
The Baxter County Quorum Court on Tuesday approved a series of ordinances and resolutions involving land-clearing for Aldi, departmental reimbursements, and board appointments during a 44-minute regular meeting.Justices approved Resolution 2025-19, allocating $16,000 for land-clearing for Aldi development. The resolution passed 8-2, with Justices of the Peace Bob Nault and Eric Payne voting against. A $10,000 appropriation for a part-time position in Veteran Services passed unanimously.
Among the measures passed were ordinances to reimburse fees to the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, reimburse $8,570 to Juvenile Services, and transfer funds within Circuit Court. The court also approved a transfer of funds exceeding $8,000, a $20,000 transfer to the county jail, and a $300,000 appropriation to the motor fuel tax fund. Additional measures included a $12,000 transfer to the Road and Bridge Department, and $14,000 in funding for the Gassville/Cotter Rural Fire Department.
Resolution 2025-20, appointing Josh Willard to the Baxter County Library Board, was approved 9-1, with J.P. Rick Steiner opposed. The court also approved the appointment of Brooke Chapman to the Norfork Fire Department Board of Commissioners and the reappointment of a member to the Gamaliel Fire Department Board of Commissioners.
The meeting adjourned with no further discussion.
