The North Central Arkansas Veterans Council is again sponsoring the May 26, 2025 Annual Memorial Day Commemoration at First Security Bank Veterans Plaza 2000 in Mountain Home, AR. It will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m. The host organization is Alley White American Legion Post 52, Mountain Home, AR. with David E. Butts serving as Master of Ceremonies.
This year our keynote speaker will be Stetson Painter, State Representative for District 3 in the Arkansas House of Representatives. Mr. Painter also serves on the Veteran and Military Affairs Committee, is a Sargeant First Class in the Army Reserves and has served in the Reserves for 19 years. Stetson Painter is replacing Captain Randy Malone, who is unable to speak because of other commitments.
Chaplain will be Michael Nighbert, Chaplain of Alley White Post 52. The national anthem will be sung by Raquel Houk. Music will be provided by KTLO Radio and they also will be providing the sound and broadcast. Colors will be provided by the participating Veterans Organizations and Honors by the Honor Guard of Alley White American Legion Post 52.
Immediately after the ceremony, cupcakes and coffee will be served at VFW Post 3246.
In case of inclement weather like a tornado warning or heavy rain, the event will be cancelled and it will be announced on KTLO.
