Friday night saw area baseball and softball teams in regional tournament as championship rounds are scheduled for Saturday.
In 3A-2 regional softball Melbourne Lady Bearkatz (19-5) defeated Walnut Ridge 9-8 Friday and will go on to face 17-5 Hoxie Saturday at 2:30 for the championship round.
In 1A-1 softball Norfork lost to Scranton and will play the consolation game Saturday at noon. Viola Lady Longhorns was able to defeat County Line 6-2 Friday and will face Scranton for the Championship round at 2:30.
In 1A-2 regional softball, Calico Rock lost 4-2 Friday to West Side. The Lady Pirates play the consolation round at noon Saturday.
In 1A-1 baseball action Friday night, Norfork lost to Jasper 11-1.
Valley Springs bested Flippin in 3A-2 regional baseball action Friday night.
