U.S. Senate candidate Democrat Hallie Shoffner will make a visit to Mountain Home Saturday for a fundraiser hosted by The Baxter County Democratic Party.

Running from 1 to 3 Saturday afternoon at the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas, the event is open to the public and refreshments will be served.

Shoffner, a northeast Arkansas farmer and small-business owner, is seeking a seat in the U.S. Senate and is running in a race that includes incumbent Republican Senator Tom Cotton.

According to her campaign, Shoffner is a sixth-generation farmer who grew up in Newport, where she worked alongside her family raising crops such as soybeans, rice, corn, cotton and wheat. She later spent nearly a decade operating her family’s farm, managing finances and day-to-day operations.

She has also worked in areas related to conservation and regional food systems and holds degrees from Vanderbilt University and the Clinton School of Public Service. Shoffner has also served in leadership and advisory roles connected to food access initiatives in Arkansas.

The Food Bank of North Central Arkansas is located at 1042 Highland Circle in Mountain Home.
