Seven Baxter County single parents received a combined $10,000 in scholarships through the Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund during the Spring 2026 semester.
The scholarships were awarded as part of ASPSF’s statewide efforts to help single parents continue their college or trade school education while supporting their families.
Among the local recipients was Erin Denmark, who is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in psychology at Arkansas State University with plans to become a certified therapist.
Denmark said the scholarship provided both financial help and encouragement to continue working toward her goals as a single parent.
ASPSF scholarships can provide up to $1,600 per semester and may be used for expenses including child care, transportation, housing, utilities and school-related costs.
Statewide, the organization awarded more than $659,000 in scholarships to 453 single parents across 69 Arkansas counties. ASPSF also raised $61,000 during its second annual Day of Giving fundraiser held in March.
