Deputy Treasurer – Baxter County Government

The Baxter County Government is seeking a reliable and hardworking individual for the position of Deputy Treasurer

Job Requirements/Description:

Responsibilities include receive calls from the public and direct them to the appropriate office; receipt in all revenues for all Baxter County offices; records, scans, and files documentation; reconcile bank statements, receipts, and distribute interest; receipt in current/delinquent personal taxes, real estate taxes,, state land sales, homestead (property tax relief), and federal forest and flood control; calculate and record distribution amounts; Ad Valorem monthly report sent to the Arkansas State Treasurer’s Office for all school districts; process monthly distribution of all taxing entities; receipt local sales tax; complete sales tax rebate distributions as needed; process payroll transactions; remit payments for payroll liabilities; maintain reconciliation and process pay of retiree insurance benefits; complete bank deposits and secure collateralization as needed; process and document all court orders, transfers by ordinances, and reimbursements to departmental budgets; complete monthly warrant reconciliation; provide revenue and balance information to all Baxter County offices as needed; distribute excess collector’s and treasurer’s commissions and process final tax settlement distributions annually; perform related duties as required; complete monthly warrant reconciliation; provide revenue and balance information to all Baxter County offices as needed; distribute excess collector’s and treasurer’s commissions and process final tax settlement distributions annually; work on annual budgeting process projecting revenues and compiling the budget for all departments.

Minimum Qualifications

Accounting/Bookkeeping procedures and concept; skill in the operation of basic office equipment; software efficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook

Positive interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships; performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature; performing basic mathematical functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and ratios; communication, both oral and written

Ability to

Meet schedules and deadlines of the work; understand and carry out oral and written directions; accurately organize and maintain paper documents and electronic files; maintain the confidentiality of information and professional boundaries

Benefits/Salary:

Pay: $19/hour

BENEFITS:

90 Day Increase: Up to 3% increase in pay at 90 days with satisfactory evaluation.

Anniversary Increase: Up to 3% increase in pay with satisfactory evaluation at employee’s annual anniversary.

Benefits: Blue Cross/Blue Shield Health, Dental and Vision insurance paid for the employee. $30,000 life insurance policy paid for the employee.

Personal Days: 2 days on the 1st of the month after 30 days of employment; 2 days every anniversary.

Sick Days: 20 sick days per year, beginning on the 1st of the month after 30 days of employment.

Vacation Days: 15 Days on 1-4 each anniversary; 20 days on 5-9 years each anniversary; 25 days on 10+ years each anniversary.

Retirement: Contribute 7% and are fully vested after 5 years through APERS; leaving in good standing after 5 years will be paid for all unused personal, sick, and vacation days.
