
The Mountain Home City Council will meet Thursday evening at 5 inside council chambers at the municipal building on Hickory Street.
Among the items on the agenda is the second reading of a proposed ordinance regulating short-term rentals within the city, including guidelines for rentals located in residential subdivisions.
Council members will also hold a second reading on a proposed ordinance regulating banners, portable billboards, commercial yard signs and other temporary signage within Mountain Home.
The council is scheduled to hear a cybersecurity presentation from Blue Guys IT along with a quarterly update from the Baxter Day Service Center presented by Paul Neal.
In other business, the council will consider multiple requests from the city’s water and sewer department, including resolutions authorizing the purchase of 250 smart water meters for more than $43,000 and a 2018 Isuzu truck for nearly $77,000.
Council members will also consider using $190,000 in restricted water depreciation funds for a water line upgrade project covering Cross Street, High Avenue and Terrington Street. The project would replace existing 2-inch galvanized pipe with 4- and 6-inch pipe.
The agenda also includes a proposed ordinance ordering the removal or demolition of buildings located at 261 West Second Street.
