
Mayor McGeorge ‘Mac’ Caradine announced Wednesday he is seeking reelection as mayor of Cotter for the 2027-2030 term.
KTLO, Classic Hits and the Boot News spoke with Cardine who says his campaign will focus on continuing infrastructure improvements while preserving the city’s small-town and river community identity.

In announcing his campaign, Caradine highlighted ongoing efforts involving parks, streets, sewer improvements and support for local businesses, city employees and volunteer firefighters.
According to the announcement, Caradine has helped secure more than $3.1 million in grants during his time as mayor for projects involving Warrior Park, Big Spring Park and the NAYC facility, along with other infrastructure improvements.
He said his focus has been on steady growth and that Cotter will need to continue expanding its tax base to support the city’s future growth.

The release also credited Caradine with helping launch community events such as Christmas in Cotter and restoring lighting on the historic Cotter Bridge.
Caradine said his campaign will remain focused on local issues, infrastructure improvements and maintaining the character of the community.
