Valley Springs are 3A-2 Champs, Cotter boys earn 3rd in 2A-1, Lady Pirates take 3rd in 1A-2

Saturday’s beautiful weather was a perfect backdrop as area baseball and softball teams competed in regional finals Saturday.In baseball action, Valley Springs claimed the title of 3A-2 Regional Champs in a tight game over Walnut Ridge Saturday afternoon. Final score was 4-3, the Tigers have a record this season of 27-5.

Cotter claimed 3rd place in 2A-1 Regionals with an 8-4 victory over Mountainburg. With 4 RBIs Cole Tilton helped guide the Warriors to the win. Cotter moves on to state tournament play next week.

The Cave City Caveman bested Flippin with a 9-8 win Saturday to claim the 3 seed position at the state tournament next week. Both teams advance to state.

In softball action, The Cave City Cavewomen fell to Walnut Ridge 8-5 to take the 4 seed in state action next week.

In 3A-2 Hoxie was crowned Regional Champs after defeating the Melbourne Lady BearKatz 1-0.

Scranton bested the Lady Longhorns out of Viola with a sweep of 11-0 to claim the 1A-1 Regional Championship.

The Calico Rock Lady Pirates took 3rd in the 1A-2 regionals defeating Marked Tree 18-6.
