The Missouri Tigers baseball saw its Southeastern Conference Tournament run come to an end Wednesday morning with a 12-2 loss to 16th-ranked Mississippi State Bulldogs baseball in seven innings at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium.

Mississippi State broke open a close game with an eight-run sixth inning to trigger the run rule.

Kam Durnin continued his strong tournament by going 2-for-3 with a solo home run in the first inning to give Missouri an early lead. Durnin finished the season leading the Tigers in batting average, slugging percentage, on-base percentage and stolen bases.

Brady Kehlenbrink struck out eight batters in the loss, giving him 100 strikeouts on the season. Missouri officials said it marked the first time since at least 1999 that two Tiger pitchers recorded 100 strikeouts in the same season.

The Tigers briefly cut the deficit to 3-2 in the fifth inning after RBIs from Jamal George and Chris Patterson.

Missouri finished the season 24-31 overall and doubled its SEC win total from the previous year while also earning its first SEC Tournament victory since 2017.
