Razorbacks sign National Player of the Year Jordan Smith Jr.

The Arkansas Razorbacks men’s basketball officially added one of the nation’s top basketball recruits Wednesday with the signing of Jordan Smith Jr..

Smith, a 6-foot-2 guard from Paul VI Catholic High School, was named the consensus National High School Player of the Year for 2026.

Among his honors were the Gatorade National Player of the Year award, the Naismith Boys High School Player of the Year award and USA TODAY Sports Boys Basketball Player of the Year recognition.

Smith was ranked as a five-star prospect and one of the top overall recruits nationally by multiple recruiting services.

As a senior, Smith averaged 26.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 3.2 steals per game while leading Paul VI to conference and state championships along with a national No. 1 ranking.

Smith also helped Paul VI capture multiple national titles during his high school career and finished with a 124-15 overall record.

Internationally, Smith has represented USA Basketball multiple times and won gold medals at the 2025 FIBA U19 Men’s World Cup and the 2024 FIBA U17 World Cup.

He was also selected for the 2026 McDonald’s All-American Game and the 2026 Jordan Brand Classic.
