Former ASU-Mountain Home pitcher Ckyler Tengler has earned multiple honors after throwing a no-hitter for Arkansas State.
Tengler was named Week 13 Sun Belt Pitcher of the Week, College Baseball Foundation National Pitcher of the Week for May 12 and Perfect Game Co-Pitcher of the Week.
The redshirt junior threw Arkansas State’s seventh no-hitter in program history and the school’s first since 2005 during a dominant performance on the mound. Tengler tossed a complete game shutout over nine innings, striking out nine batters while throwing just 93 pitches. The only batter to reach base came on a hit-by-pitch in the fourth inning.
The Searcy native signed with Little Rock out of high school before spending two seasons at Arkansas State University-Mountain Home. Tengler joined Arkansas State University for the 2026 season.
By throwing a complete game shutout in fewer than 100 pitches, Tengler also recorded a rare ‘Maddux,’ named after Hall of Fame pitcher Greg Maddux. Tengler’s performance marked just the sixth recorded Maddux in Division I baseball this season and the only one that was also a no-hitter.
Tengler and the Red Wolves return to action Thursday night at South Alabama. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30.
