
West Plains police arrested two teenagers in connection with an air gun shooting that left a man seriously injured on May 1.
The West Plains Police Department said officers responded to the 600 block of Shuttee Street after receiving a report of a man who had been shot with an air gun.
When officers arrived, they found the victim suffering from what were described as life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Detectives launched an investigation and later identified two male teenagers, ages 16 and 17, as suspects in the case.
Both teens were arrested on May 12 on suspicion of first-degree assault, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon. They were referred to the 37th Circuit Juvenile Office for prosecution.
Police say the investigation remains ongoing, and anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact West Plains police at 417-256-2244.
The names of the juveniles have not been released.
