A 22-year-old Jonesboro man is facing multiple felony charges after police say he threatened to kill four people with a BB gun during an attempted break-in earlier this month, according to a probable-cause affidavit.

Craighead County District Judge David Boling found probable cause Wednesday to charge Tanner Chase Bobbitt with first-degree terroristic threatening, tampering with physical evidence and possession of drug paraphernalia, all Class D felonies, along with second-degree criminal mischief, a Class B misdemeanor.

According to the affidavit, officers responded on May 3 to the 200 block of East Center Street for an attempted break-in. One of the victims told police she was outside her home when Bobbitt allegedly tried to force his way inside, causing damage to the property.

The victim and three other individuals confronted Bobbitt and ordered him to leave. Investigators say Bobbitt then reached into his waistband and pulled out what appeared to be a black pistol.

After backing away, Bobbitt allegedly threatened to shoot and kill the four victims as he walked from the scene.

Police later located Bobbitt nearby and recovered a BB gun in his possession, according to the report. He was taken into custody without further incident.

While being transported to the Craighead County Detention Center, an officer reportedly observed Bobbitt attempting to conceal what was described as a methamphetamine pipe, leading to the additional paraphernalia charge.

Bobbitt is currently being held on a $100,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled to be arraigned on June 26.

The investigation remains ongoing.
